Fade to Black - Part 8

The 2002 awards ceremony threw Fade to Black up as the night's big winner. Hayes and Joey Ray took home the couples scene trophy - they'd fucked like they meant it and the voters noticed. Paul Thomas scored Best Director and also snagged the statuette for Non-Sex Performance, so he spent the night doubling his drink order and laughing about it. Editing, screenplay, and the picture itself all landed in his collection too, which meant the editing bay and the typewriter had pulled their weight. A full-on group romp grabbed the Best Group honor. Julie Meadows collected Supporting Actress for showing up, saying lines that landed, and making the parts count. All in one night the awards stacked themselves like hand pays on a hot machine, and Thomas's crew walked with the whole rack.
