Mark’s chilling when someone starts hammering on his door like the place is on fire. It’s his neighbor Adriana, wild-eyed, begging to hide from her pissed-off wife. Before he can ask what set her off, Charlene shows up rattling the knob, yelling about a stupid argument. Turns out Adri caught Charlene cheating and split. Charlene’s spun her story around to “woe is me,” but Adri shoves Mark farther inside, warning him not to trust her and dead-bolting rooms behind them. They end up in a glass-walled back space. Adri thanks him with this genuine smirk that lights him up, even if he tries to wave it off. Shaking her head, she sighs that she’s wasted years playing house, heat flaring now that it’s obvious the time belonged to nothing but lies. That’s when Charlene pops up at the window, smacking the glass, scolding Adri for overreacting. Eyes flash.
