Mr. Owen - Derek Kage - shows Hailey into his house. She's housesitting while he heads out on a business trip. Hailey steps in like she's just won the lottery; her name is Beca Barbie and she got the boot from her apartment, so this setup lands at the perfect time. She thinks she's got the place to herself for days, but subtle shit keeps happening. Doors she closed sit open again. The air moves like someone's just left a room she didn't know she was sharing. She catches flickers in reflections, catches the scent of cologne drifting down empty halls. The night everything cracks open, she catches him in the act. Mr. Owen, live and breathing right there in her space. No trip. The story is trash; this is his game and he's run it on several girls already. Hailey is his first to pin him down. She flares up, calls him every dirty name she's holding, but he cuts straight through it. Says he sees how much she needs this roof, how hard she's got it out there scraping by. Simple offer: move in for good if she agrees to extra service beyond rent, rides anytime he wants the benefits package. Disgust burns hot, yet rent stares her down harder. Survival kicks in. She stares at the carpet, nods once, and the deal locks down like a door clicking shut.
